Plain-English answer
Teen Anger Management Class Online
Teen Anger Management is an online course for ages 13–17. Your teen learns what sets them off, how to cool down before they yell, slam or hit, and how to talk to parents, teachers and friends without a fight. It comes in 4 and 8 hours, and it works at their own pace on a phone or computer.
The teen course is still being finished. The page explains the study timer, quizzes and certificate it will use.
- Court-accepted in most jurisdictions
- Educational course, not therapy
- Acceptance is decided by the court, school or officer — check with them first.

Who this class is for
This class is for teens ages 13 to 17 whose anger got them into trouble at school, at home or with the law. A school may ask for it instead of a suspension. A juvenile court, teen court, diversion program or juvenile probation officer may ask for it too. Some parents choose it on their own.
This class may fit your teen if:
- The paperwork says "anger management class," "teen anger management" or "anger management for juveniles."
- The school asked for a class after a fight, a blow-up with a teacher or trouble in a group chat.
- Your family wants help with yelling, slammed doors or fights between brothers and sisters.
The course starts from one idea: anger is normal, and what you do with it is your choice. It does not treat your teen as a bad kid.
For parents: a parent or guardian buys the course and holds the account. The course is for ages 13–17 only. We never ask for your teen's date of birth, case number or court.
The 8 lessons
Each lesson is about one hour of reading, listening and short exercises, with a quiz at the end.
- Understanding Anger: What It Is and What It Costs
- Know Your Triggers and Warning Signs
- Cool Down: The Anger Meter, Timeouts, and Relaxation
- Hot Thoughts, Cool Thoughts
- Say It Right: Talking to Parents, Teachers, and Friends
- Solving Conflicts Without Fighting
- Stress, Sleep, Screens, and Anger
- Owning It and Building Your Anger Control Plan
Your teen starts with what anger has already cost: a spot on the team, a friend, a teacher's trust, phone time at home. Then they find their own triggers, like "that's not fair," a teacher's comment, losing a game or a sibling who won't stop. They learn the early signs in their body and practice a timeout that works at school and at home. Later lessons work on hot thoughts like "everyone is against me" or "I'll look weak," and on asking for things instead of demanding them. The last lesson ends with a Personal Anger Control Plan and the names of adults who can help.
If your teen is being bullied, tell a trusted adult or a school counselor. This course is about your teen's own choices, not about putting up with harm.
4 hours or 8 hours
| Length | Lessons |
|---|---|
| 4 hours | 1, 2, 3 and 8: what anger costs, triggers and warning signs, cooling down, and the plan |
| 8 hours | All 8 lessons |
Take the number of hours on the paperwork. If the school or officer did not name a number, ask them before you choose.
How the hours are counted
- A timed study log. The timer counts active time only, like reading, listening and doing exercises. It stops when your teen walks away. Hours are saved on our server, not on the phone. How the timer works →
- A quiz after each lesson and a final test that opens only after every lesson is done.
You get an enrollment letter when your teen starts, with a line for the school contact or juvenile probation officer. You also get a progress report and a certificate of completion with a certificate ID and QR code. The school or officer can check it at /verify with the certificate ID and last name. Every lesson can be read aloud with audio.
Before you start: check with the school or court
The court, school or officer decides whether a certificate counts, not us. Ask three questions, by email if you can:
- "Will you accept an online, self-paced anger management class for teens?"
- "How many hours do you need?"
- "Does the order or school plan name a specific program or provider?"
Our page for probation officers explains how hours are logged and how to check a certificate. For more on who decides, read will a court accept an online class?
