One bad second, months of fallout

A purchase you can't afford. A swing. A text you can't unsend. Something you took because no one was looking. Impulses take a few seconds; the consequences take months. This class is about the gap between the urge and the action — and how to make it wider.

You'll learn:

  • Why "now" beats "later" in your brain — and the four things that weaken your brakes: stress, short sleep, alcohol and hunger.
  • Urge surfing. Most urges peak and fade within 20 to 30 minutes. You learn to ride one out instead of obeying it.
  • Three decision tools: STOP, a short-term vs long-term pros-and-cons table, and 10-10-10 — how will you feel about this in 10 minutes, 10 months, 10 years?
  • The thoughts that talk you into it: "Just this once." "I deserve it." "No one will know."
  • A written impulse control plan with your triggers, your pause and your support people.

Not a renamed anger class

Some of the skills overlap with anger management — pausing, breathing, challenging a thought — because they work for both. But four lessons are written only for this course (the brain's reward system, decision tools, delayed gratification, and money and online impulses), and every example is about impulses: buying, taking, texting, fighting, using. Your certificate reads "Impulse Control & Decision Making."

Every class comes with proof

  • Enrollment letter (PDF) the minute you pay.
  • Certificate of completion with your name, course, hours, dates, final test score, an ID and a QR code. No extra fee.
  • A public check page at /verify: your officer enters the ID and your last name and sees the same hours and dates.
  • An honest timer that counts only active time and logs every session on our server. Fast reader? You get extra practice, not a clock to stare at.
  • A short animated video explainer in every lesson, with captions, on your phone or computer.

We never ask for your case number

If your court wants a case number, court name or date of birth on the certificate, you type them into your own copy of the PDF, in your browser. They never reach our servers. We don't ask what happened.

If your court says no, you get your money back

If your court, judge or probation officer doesn't accept your certificate, we refund 100% of the course fee. Send us the written rejection and the official's contact details within 60 days of finishing.

Frequently asked questions

What is an impulse control class?

It's an educational course that teaches you to notice urges, pause before acting, and weigh consequences before you decide. Courts and probation officers often assign one after incidents like shoplifting, fights, or reckless choices.

Is a decision making class the same as an impulse control class?

Orders use both names for the same kind of class. Ours is called "Impulse Control & Decision Making," and both terms appear on your certificate. If your order names a specific program, ask your officer whether an equivalent class is fine.

Will my court accept this class?

Our classes are court-accepted in most jurisdictions, but the decision belongs to your court or officer. Ask them before you buy. If they don't accept your certificate, you get a full refund.

Is this the same as Thinking for a Change or Moral Reconation Therapy?

No. Those are specific programs, usually run in groups by trained facilitators. If your order names one of them, ask your officer before buying any online class.

How do I prove I enrolled?

Your enrollment letter PDF arrives the minute you pay. You can also download a progress report any time.

Is this therapy?

No. It's an educational course, not therapy, counseling or a clinical evaluation. If you're in crisis, call or text 988.
